The Indian external affairs minister on Thursday rejected Pakistan’s claims of having information regarding New Delhi fomenting the insurgency in Balochistan, saying Islamabad had no evidence against India.
“India has nothing to hide... Indian position in Balochistan is an open book,” SM Krishna was quoted as saying during the question hour in the Rajya Sabha, the Upper House of the Indian parliament.
“Pakistan is fabricating evidence (of Indian role in Balochistan),” he said, adding that not even a shred of evidence had been received so far.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said that evidence of India’s involvement in Balochistan would be disclosed through diplomatic channels at the right time. On November 22, he said evidence of India’s involvement was being compiled. According to Krishna, these two statements were a clear indication that Pakistan “has not been able to marshal any evidence of India’s involvement in Balochistan”, Times of India reported.
